DENTAL CLINIC INTERIOR DESIGN AND FITOUT – 3 KEY AREAS OF FOCUS FOR A SUPERIOR SURGERY LAYOUT
With over 35 years of experience, our team of experts in dental clinic design and construction brings a unique approach to transforming your practice. Using our proven process and a specialist construction team, we focus on improving both Patient Experience (PX) and User Experience (UX).
Our services cover every aspect of creating a functional and appealing dental environment, including dental office design, ergonomic surgery layouts, and thoughtful office interior solutions. We prioritise functionality and practice design to ensure your space meets both aesthetic and practical needs. We currently cover London and areas across the South East of England.
Our design and fit-out process is organised into clear stages, providing a road map from concept to completion. From innovative reception ideas to optimised surgery layouts and equipment integration, we manage every detail. Additionally, we offer comprehensive dental surgery refurbishment services to upgrade existing practices.
DEFINE
We will take the time to understand the location and function of each surgery, the ‘patient journey’ and your needs in terms of access, dental surgery layout ergonomics, lighting, storage, mechanics, electrics and more. We will also analyse how you use your current space and identify areas for improvement.
We will help with creating brand new practices, refurbishments and individual surgeries. We bring the same insight and attention to detail to every project.
DESIGN
The interior design of your dental surgery plays a key role in making a positive and lasting impression on patients. It not only helps to put them at ease but also allows you to create the atmosphere you envision—whether calm and traditional or fresh and modern.
Our approach ensures we maximise the potential of your workspace by designing surgeries from the “mouth-out,” focusing on functionality and flow rather than starting with the walls.
DELIVER
We will take on the stress of your project, saving you time and delivering peace of mind. We appreciate that every day of surgery downtime is expensive, so we aim to minimise disruption as much as possible.
We have extensive insight into the optimum solutions to technical issues related to plant and equipment services, as well as in-depth industry knowledge of specialist companies who can add value to your project and ensure success.

ERGONOMIC CABINETRY DESIGN FOR SEAMLESS WORKFLOW
At Anglian Dental, we understand that the efficiency of your clinical workspace depends on the careful planning of every millimetre. Our ergonomic cabinetry solutions are designed around the daily routines of your dental team, ensuring instruments and consumables are always within easy reach while maintaining clear, clutter-free surfaces.
We create cabinetry layouts that enhance the natural flow of your surgeries, reduce unnecessary movement and minimise fatigue during long clinical sessions. Every unit is designed for durability, easy maintenance and precise integration with your equipment, helping to maximise productivity and maintain a professional, organised environment that supports both patient and practitioner comfort.
INFECTION CONTROL AT THE HEART OF EVERY DESIGN
Infection prevention is fundamental to safe and compliant dental practice design. Our team builds HTM 01-05 compliance into every aspect of your surgery layout, from zoning clean and dirty areas to selecting non-porous, easy-to-sanitise surfaces and finishes.
We design cabinetry and worktops with smooth, seamless edges to prevent dirt traps, and incorporate hands-free taps, touchless waste systems and integrated storage to keep critical surfaces clear. This meticulous approach not only safeguards your patients and staff, but also streamlines decontamination workflows, reducing turnaround times between appointments while ensuring your practice exceeds current infection control standards.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a dental clinic design and fit-out project typically cost?
Every project is different, so costs depend on the size of your practice, the specification of finishes and equipment, and the level of refurbishment required. We provide a fully costed proposal after your initial consultation so you can make informed decisions before committing.
Can you work to a fixed budget?
Yes. Once we understand your goals, we can tailor our design, materials and equipment recommendations to suit your agreed budget, helping you achieve the best possible result without unexpected costs.
Will my practice have to close during the fit-out?
We aim to minimise downtime as much as possible. In many cases we can phase the work so that parts of your practice remain operational while others are refurbished, helping you continue treating patients during the project.
How long does the whole design and build process take from start to finish?
Typical projects take between 12 and 24 weeks depending on complexity, planning approvals and the number of surgeries being created or refurbished. We will give you a realistic schedule before work begins.
Do I need planning permission or building regulations approval?
Some projects do require building regulations approval, and occasionally planning permission. We handle all liaison with building control and can advise if planning permission is needed, preparing and submitting all required documents for you.
