“The partnership we had with Anglian Dental was fundamental to creating the practice, therefore I would like to give a big thanks to the team. We were very lucky to have had a partnership and teamship with Anglian Dental.”

From a blank canvas of 6 floors, we had to work closely with the various clients to segregate what was to happen per floor. Right from the back of house basement area, through to the patient-facing ground floor, up through the higher levels of the building, to zone the particular discipline of dentistry happening on each floor.

There were a large number of revisions to ensure that we came up with the best layout, alongside this was a huge challenge with the listed building consent, as we were unable to subdivide certain areas we would ideally liked to have done. It’s a grade II listed building, so to be able to create a modern practice with an organic homely feel within a very challenging zone was a very remarkable achievement.

The project was under time pressure due to the period taken to organise all components together – listed building consent, building control, surgery design, equipment specification.

The build was delivered on time and on budget. The challenges of the practice, with the need to sympathetic to the building but to dovetail all the modern requirements, was hard but the result is fantastic as shown in the images.

Anglian Dental are proud to have installed the first Belmont Eurus S8 in this practice. This was several months ahead of anyone else in the UK having access to the chair. The other rooms were complemented with a variety of different Belmont chairs based on the particular dentistry disciplines.

The cabinetry was all designed, bespoke-made and installed to each surgery. We had the challenge of mounting an x-ray to the wall, which was verified by listed building authorities.

A Planmeca CBCT scanner, back of house suction system and plant equipment was also installed throughout the building.
