WILLESDEN CENTRE FOR HEALTH AND CARE

LONDON

DESIGN & PLANNING

We were approached by a long-standing customer, a North London NHS trust, to design, fit-out and equip a complete dental department to a high standard.

We worked within the parameters of an existing ‘wing’ of a health centre to design a compliant department with 4 surgeries (one bariatric), a decon room, a CBCT room, plant, office, staff, and store room.

Added challenges arose when we had to work for the building management company, rather than for the client directly. A full set of plans were produced and signed-off prior to works commencing so there were no surprises on delivery and implementation. A job well-planned, is quicker, simpler, and more cost-effective to implement.

BUILDING WORKS

A full turnkey service was provided within our contracts team. This included a full strip-out, re-wire, re-plumb, lead lining, new floorings, all dental services, and decorations.

A high-capacity air-conditioning system was installed, alongside a HTM01-03 compliant HVAC system to provide 10 air changes to all clinical zones.

Paul Toomey, our project manager co-ordinated the full 16-week program and delivered within timescales and budget.

EQUIPMENT & CABINETRY

A large range of dental equipment was installed to provide the Trust with the ability to care for all types of patients across a variety of treatments.

We provided ambidextrous Belmont tbCompass vac pac suites. Belmont 050 chairs, with Belmont Clesta II E carts provided a knee-break solution for the elderly and infirm, whilst the Design Specific bariatric tipper bench caters for heavier and disabled patients.

Plant equipment was supplied by Cattani Esam and Durr Dental.

Imaging systems were supplied by KaVo, with a OP3D CBCT machine and a Scan Exam One plate scanner.

Anglian Dental ‘Klasse’ cabinetry was designed and installed bespoke, with laminate fronts, solid surface worktops, and Corian sinks.
