DESIGN & PLANNING
A new-build shell scheme of around 65sq metres was transformed into a compact but highly functional 2 surgery practice with space for CBCT, decon, store and staff room.
As with most squat practices, budget was a key aspect so this was carefully considered throughout the whole process.
We were involved with initial feasibility studies, cost summaries, general arrangement plans, building control, technical drawings and all construction design.
BUILD & FIT-OUT
The project was completed within 12 weeks from start to finish. A program was agreed and shared with Dr Pindoria and a regular rhythm of update meetings arranged so all parties were kept informed throughout and decisions made quickly.
As the client had recently become a parent and still worked clinically, we saved them time by project managing the entire process and used all our own in-house trades from initial partitioning works through to final decorations.
Simple and practical materials were used throughout which kept costs down but still gave a quality appearance. A simple extraction system was installed to provide on-demand ‘ventilation’ to a rate of 10 air changes per hour, at a significantly lower cost than alternatives.
EQUIPMENT & CABINETRY
One surgery was initially fitted with another readily plumbed for future expansion.
A Belmont Voyager III chair and a Belmont 097 x-ray was ordered several months ahead (thanks to our advice!) due to long lead times that were current. Belmont equipment was chosen due to its reliability and simplicity to operate.
Bespoke cabinetry and a beautiful solid surface reception desk was installed in solid surface materials. Dr Pindoria recognised the importance of investing in a high-end centre-piece desk because it’s important to make first impressions count!
