DR RACHEL PENNINGTON

DENTAL SURGERY DESIGN

Ramsey Dental surgery is a very established NHS practice in the small town of Ramsey in Cambridgeshire.

Dr Rachel Pennington approached Anglian Dental to modernise a surgery which had been in use for 30 years previously. We were one of several companies quoting for the project and were selected as Rachel was too busy to manage the project and needed a turnkey dental fit out solution from a company with a trusted track record.

We worked closely with the users to ensure the design would precisely meet the requirements of the dental staff. This included changing the door swing to improve patient access to the chair.

BUILDING WORK

Anglian completed all aspects of the project, which included strip out, waste away, new plumbing for the suction and cabinetry, new x-ray wiring, new data cables and a complete rewire. All old woodchip wall paper was removed and joinery work to rehang the door was included. A new vinyl floor, capped and coved up the walls was installed. LED daylight panels suspended from the ceiling were installed to provide a shadowless light in a stylish format.

The project plan was to complete within 2 weeks whilst the other surgeries were functioning around us! This was successfully achieved. Dr Pennington was able to continue to see patients throughout the project and had very little day-to-day management. One contact, one invoice!

EQUIPMENT AND CABINETRY

The reliable and functional Belmont Voyager III suite was chosen in Ash Grey due to its flexibility as a ambidextrous chair.
Cattani microsmart suction pump and a Belmont 097 x-ray machine was also used.

Anglian Dental Klasse cabinetry was selected with solid surface worktops and soft-close drawers to give the surgery the modern and ‘high end’ finish. The silver plinths and brushed bowed handles compliment the clinical white finish beautifully!
