DR NIKITA MEHTA & DR SHABNAM ZAI – WEST HOUSE DENTAL PRACTICE

DESIGN

This lovely private dental practice, located in the tranquil setting of Pinner Park, required a design to complement its surroundings whilst being practical and demonstrating a sense to patients that they were in hands of dentists that truly care. We were involved in the early stages of the planning process, from the initial room layouts, through to the detailed 3D models and finally the building regulation drawings. Every detail was considered, from the use of a beautiful crittal glass wall in the waiting area, even down to the orientation of the wallpaper. Attention to detail along every step of the way set Anglian Dentals design team apart! The process took approximately 2 months.

BUILD

Turning the designs into reality is made enjoyable when the planning and design work is done well. Before the work started, we set up a schedule of weekly site meetings for the duration of the whole project to ensure Dr Mehta & Dr Zai were well informed of progress and key decisions were made in good time. The discovery of a beam in a wall that we were removing, was in the place of the proposed reception desk came as a surprise, but we quickly overcame this by involving our structural engineer. The polished concrete reception desk is the showpiece of the practice! By having a single point of contact throughout the whole process, Dr Mehta & Dr Zai were able to stay focused on their day jobs, practicing as associates, without the distraction, stress and pressure of project managing different teams and contractors. One contact, one team, one invoice!

EQUIPMENT AND CABINETRY

Several showroom visits were made to ensure the equipment selected met the clinicians needs perfectly. The Belmont chair, the Durr plant equipment and the KaVo OPG machine are quality products that represent excellent value for money. Extra attention was given to the cabinetry to create an added ‘wow factor’ by choosing handle-free units and extra thick solid surface tops and side supports. A 3 hour equipment training session with all the clinical team ensured that everyone knew how to use, clean and maintain the equipment correctly.
